We are proud to annouce another engagement!

We are happy to announce that Jay Hunt proposed to his girlfriend Eva on Saturday July 14th at the Hilton Garden Hotel and she accepted.

All eyes were on Jay when he first gave her a small toblerone chocolate bar followed by a medium size bar, then a large toblerone bar. Then he gave her a large poster that she unrolled that said, "Eva, will you marry me?". She was presented with a ring and answered "Yes".

Jay and Eva met at our dance at the Old Mill on Saturday February 3rd, 2007.

Congratulations Jay and Eva! We send you our Best Wishes for the future!

A chance to meet your soulmate!
Celebrate the birth of our mation in romantic style, this Sunday at the Old Mill.

The long-running Single Professionals Network is hosting another one of their weekly dances - with this week's shindig falling on Canada Day.

Dress your best, adorn yourself in red and come out to meet other singles at 12 Old Mill Road this holiday weekend. You might find friendship, you might find romance, but you will definitely find a great time.

"Go out with the notion of having a good time. If you meet someone that is wonderful, if you don't, you still have a great evening out", says Network co-founder Peter Finch.

Starting 16 years ago, Peter and Diane Finch began the company to fill the void of places where singles could meet each other. In addition to their weekly dances, the Single Professionals Network offers speed dating events to help singles meet new people.

During the event, participants meet and interact with 10 new singles over the course of one fun-filled evening. Who knows, one of them could be your perfect match!

The Single Professionals Network has been the matchmaker for many married couples in the city of Toronto; something they feel is the biggest reward they could receive.

So why not give it a chance yourself, and dance to romance?

Romance at the dance?
For today's busy single professional, finding someone can be a rather laborious task.

Between working, commuting, shopping, exercising and the many other aspects of everyday life, when can a single professional find a new friendship or romance?

The answer may be found at a Single Professionals Network event.

Holding weekend dances at some of Toronto's ritziest establishments, the company has been entertainingthe over-30 crowd for more than 15 years.

Why not dance your way to romance?
You aren't Ginger Rogers ou say? More Fred Flintstone than Fred Astaire? Not to worry, the network offers occasional dance lessons, allowing you to learn how to cut a rug in grand style.

Over the years, the company has made several successful romantic matches. "We know of many couples who have gotten married through the events, and they invite us to the weddings" aays Peter Finch, co-founder of the Single Professionals Network.

Finch says he started the organization after seeing the need for a place where singles could "dress up, look good and have a great time by mixing, mingling and dancing the night away".

"We gather hundreds of people each week, many people go for the ffriendships and a pleasant evening out - you might as well enjoy being single!" he says.

For more information on attending an event, call (416) 236-8222, or visit the network's website at www.singlesparties.com.

Hippy Hippy Shake Concert!
The legendary band from the 1960's and 1970's, the Hollies, hit the stage at the Palais Royale on Friday March 2. The concert featured singer and guitarist Terry Sylvester who played with the band from 1969 to 1981, and featured many of the smash hits, including "He Ain't Heavey, He's My Brother (1969)", "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress (1972)" and "The Air That I Breath (1974)".

It was a complete evening of entertainment as music fans received a VIP Dinner and Concert Package that allowed them to meet Sylvester at a CD signing and cocktail reception followed by a three-course dinner with the star before the concert.

The band hit the stage at 9:30pm and played a 90 minute, two-set show. It was a wonderful experience having the opportunity to listen to those great oldies that are still big hits today.

Our hugely successful Terry Sylvester concert!!
If you didn't come to the concert, then you REALLY missed out on an incredible evening of nostalgic and classic British rock and roll music! Terry rocked the night away just as he has for three decades, all around the world, both with the Hollies and as an independent musician.
